Changing brightness in game

I use it always and i think, it's a very helpful set of binds (Russian maps are to bright, El Alamein is too dark).

So, we're going to help you change the brightness of your screen using the gamma setting on your video card. This can be done by mapping special brightness control keys right onto your keyboard through the configuration file in your multiplayer folder in COD2. The way to do this is binding 3 keys for 3 different brightness settings.

On my computer I've bound my numeric keypad (keys: 1, 2 and 3) to 3 different brightness settings.

Gamma of 1.3 (dark) is bound to my keypad 1 key.
Gamma of 1.6 (normal) is bound to my keypad 2 key.
Gamma of 1.9 (bright) is bound to my keypad 3 key.

Now, we're going to edit the config_mp.cfg file. This file contains all the player configuration data for your multiplayer session.

1) Right click on the the file config_mp.cfg folder and "open with" Notepad (the text editor).

2) Copy the following text and paste it into config_mp.cfg file.

bind KP_END "r_gamma 1.3"
bind KP_DOWNARROW "r_gamma 1.6"
bind KP_PGDN "r_gamma 1.9"

(This is an example. You can place your own values of gamma)

3) Save and exit.

4) Now, in game try to press on numeric keypad 1, 2 and 3 keys. The screen brightness will change.
